In 2002 I was approached by a friend and local businessman to produce a series of 21 paintings for a new restaurant opening in Hull. He had very definite views as to how he would create the ambience within the building. His thoughts on design involved colour and lighting, providing expectations which he wanted reflecting in the art work. The restaurant was being created with an emphasis on both strong linear elements and interesting application of colour. The paintings had then to reflect this. The restaurant was to become Hull's only Michelin Star-rated restaurant: "Venn". This led to a further series of large scale paintings being produced.
Most of the paintings below are painted in Acrylic on board, and sizes range from 6 foot to 8 foot in length.
